I have such a soft spot for these antique transferware platters. This one is mid-19th century Mulberry ware, called that for the reddish brown transfer design. The pattern is Washington Vase, which is included in the stamp on the back. The maker was Podmore, Walker & Co., a Staffordshire based stoneware maker.
It has a chip on the lower left side, and is priced accordingly. If I were keeping him I’d use him as a plate wall centerpiece and color in the chipped part.
