I’m drawn to all paintings depicting bucolic scenes, and this one is no exception. I suspect it was painted en plein air, and although I don’t know exactly where, it looks like such a peaceful view of what is likely somewhere in the English countryside. I exhale every time I look at this piece and hope it has the same effect on you!
Condition Notes: This piece is painted on an actual wood board, what looks to me to be pieces of thin veneer glued together. There is some evidence of moisture coming into contact with the back of the board. There is some noticeable separation at the top of the piece that should be easily concealed with a frame.
