This set is everything I love about antique books - the marbled covers, beautiful leather binding, originally published language (!) and the pretty accents on the spine. It just doesn’t get any better than these. The bindings are in excellent condition, and the leather, while appropriately aged, is still supple.
This set contains three of four books, missing the volume containing parts 5-6, of Les Miserables written by Victor Hugo and originally published in 1862. This set was published French in the 1870s by Pierre-Jules Hetzel.
