I am so excited to bring you this vintage Mappin & Webb piece! I was already familiar with the English company Mappin & Webb for their jewelry (and the fact that they are a Royal Warrant holder!), but didn’t know they produced silver servingware until I found this coffee pot on our last visit to North Carolina. Unfortunately I was not able to narrow down what “Freeman’s” refers to, but this piece looks to me like it was used in either hotel, railroad, or restaurant service.
The lid’s hinge feels slightly loose, but is still securely holding it in place and when open/shut.
