I suspect this piece is pretty old but don’t have the expertise to make an official guess as to its age. There are signs of age and imperfections to the surface of the box but of the variety that add character to the piece (in my opinion!).
One of the lid hinges is loose and the lid requires a bit of adjustment in order for both parts of the latch to line up, but it does close and latch relatively easily.
